For somebody who is interested in her Jordanian roots, Abu Jaber probably burnt her bridges with her family with this book. She comes from a well known and respected family, and yet most of her references to them are demeaning, and most of her "humor" is really cheap shots that nobody would want to publicly take her up on.

While I applaud success of Jordanians wherever they are, demeaning your family for a little pat on the head is really not part of the Jordanian culture.
