"how homo your cafe is" ? seriously?

'Unmasker', what we are discussing here is a matter of justice, and whether the police have the right to do what they did to a legally licensed business with no evidence of anything or any rational argument. What they did constitutes, by definition, as totalitarianism. Leave your homophobic remarks to a bigoted extremist gathering, we're talking about something completely different here.

So what is your problem exactly ? The prohibit of selling Alcohol in a Cafe that has a Book in it's name, or the daylight feeding people in Ramadan, or the ugly truth that the Gov Officers are rude ?!

so Deema after 2 months of this comment u came and called my speech as a nonsense ! and the problem is that i wasnt even speaking to u and didnt even know u existed till this very moment !
am not a fan of the society but its sth we have to live up with ! if u or anyone else cannot stand it, then u should be leaving to somewhere else more open-minded and free !
our society has been being this way since ever so neither this article nor ur comment would change it, so why dont u mind ur own business instead of attacking others' thoughts !

You respect someone when you accept them the way they are, and not force them to be like you...
Books@ weren't trying or attempting to change people's beliefs. They're just minding their own business. They have a place that people go to and enjoy a nice evening. On the other hand, the police come barging in and no one went up to them and insulted or humiliated them. They came out of the blue and claimed they're insulted because a group of people have different beliefs. And don't give me all that society respect and traditions nonsense, because it's really not up to you to decide what anyone thinks and surely not how a group of people can or can't think for that matter.

It's not a western lifestyle per se; Arabs used to and still drink men youm youmhom! being around the opposite sex is a crime because insecure people labeled it that way. Not to mention abusing authority and politics. And need I say how Arabs had the most extravagant parties ever back in the days. Again, remind me why are they wasting money and food during Ramadan while they should be feeling for the poor and eating less...
I think it is discriminating when I can't chew gum or drink water in public. This is against basic human rights. You know why? Because I don't stuff my self at night before I go to bed so I can wake up full, but I have to abide by the rules that are forced upon me like it's "my fault" I'm not Muslim, or don't fast, and should deal with the consequences. And don't even get me started on the whole Ramadan working hours, while the majority do not even fast. I'm a Jordanian citizen, and I have the right to go to a restaurant and find them serving food. I have the right to go buy ice cream and eat it while I'm walking down the street without someone breathing down my neck or giving me the look, or a police officer stopping me like I committed a crime. It is true I won't die-of course there are a lot of sick people out there who deserve to eat or drink in public more than I do- but since they force the laws of a certain religion on the whole of Jordan, and disregard the feelings and beliefs of other people of other faiths, it is time for people to speak up. I know there are places still open in Ramadan, and that's great, but what gets to me most is that they expect everyone to respect their faith while they don't respect others. They want to be respected and they demand it without earning it. They expect other people to be sensitive towards their needs while they aren't towards others'. Regardless of what the constitution states, people have no rights in regards to this subject in Jordan. If you agree with the police, you don't get discriminated against, but if not then you're always wrong until someone "bigger" than them is on your side.

Listen Madian, first of all you cannot say the police "barked" whatever you mean by that.

Am not gonna talk about how homo your cafe is and how brain washed the poeople who sit there are. but the police should not have closed the place in order to keep that brain washed part of the Jordanian community living there only without poisoning our traditions and routes.
