Events in Amman, July 11 – 17

الأحد 11 تموز 2010

There’s lots of great music coming to Amman this week. Jazz lovers are in for a treat, with a group from Berlin playing at Al-Balad Theater tomorrow and a trio from Switzerland playing at Blue Fig on Tuesday.

A special concert is taking place on Thursday as the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature, in it’s continuous efforts to protect the lands of Palestine affected by the Israeli occupation and the Apartheid wall, along with a group of enthusiastic youth volunteering group (نحن) are bringing the Lebanese singer May Nasr to support the second “Million Tree Campaign” in Occupied Palestine, and proceeds of the concert are directed to plant trees in 3 Palestinian cities.

It’s also time for Amman Tech Tuesdays, and this month it’s the social media edition with some interesting speakers (including the editors of your favorite citizen media platform, that’s right!) and a format that will engage the audience in a crowd sourcing session.
