Happy New Year everyone! If 2010 was any indication, we should expect lots of interesting arts and culture events in 2011. (Watch out for our cultural highlights of 2010 tomorrow).

As part of Darat al-Funoun’s exhibition “Sentences on the Banks and Other Stories,” artist Nidal Elkhairy and Torabeyeh ran a workshop for children of Jabal Nasr, teaching them the art of expression through Rap and Graffiti. This Tuesday, works produced by the workshop will be exhibited along with a live gig by Torabeyeh.

Other highlights include Amman Tech Tuesdays: Hacker Edition at the Princess Sumaya University, local play “Cups of Love,” written and directed by Khaled Al-Tareefi, at the Royal Cultural Center, a retrospective exhibition by Palestinian artist Abdul Hay Musallam at the National Gallery, a Syrian film at Shoman, live jazz at Canvas, book signing, flea market, and more.
