Jordanian theater director Joyce Raie

Festival and summer activities are here in full swing, and there’s something for everyone in this week’s arts and culture agenda.

The Youth and Children Theater festival kicks off at the Royal Cultural Center and includes the play “Memoires of Solitude” by Jasad Performing Arts Group, and the play “Age of Madness” by Jordanian director Rami Shawabkeh.

Foresight32 Art Gallery presents the exhibition “City | Thirdspace” by Jordanian architect/artist Rawan Kakish, exploring places that are “anchors” of community life, informal meeting places and creative interaction.

Iraqi musician Khyam Allami will launch his latest work Resonance/Dissonance at the Balad Theater, tomorrow Monday. It’s a boundary-crossing musical work for fans of Middle Eastern, Classical, Progressive, Jazz, Improvised, World and Avant-garde.

The German Women’s Jazz Orchestra is in Amman this week, and will be performing on Tuesday at the Hussein Cultural Center. You also have European film screenings, the Amman Summer Festival at the Hussein Park, the Shabib Arts and Culture Festival, sale on art works at the Studio and at Jacaranda gallery, Shou Hal Ayyam group at Jara Theater, and more.
