Tens of journalists protested on Monday in front of the Jordan Press Association against the blocking of over 300 news websites earlier this week.
Internet Service Providers were asked by the Telecom regulator to block access to over 300 news websites based on directions from the Press and Publication Department. The latter said that these websites failed to comply with the latest amendments of the Press and Publication Law, which equates news websites to print media and requires them to obtain a license from the government to operate.
