7iber Café Hosts First Event

October 8, 2013

Bring together a group of activists, architects, politicians, and business people in a newly renovated house in historic Jabal Amman (the yet to be opened ‘7iber Café’) and you are bound to have an exceptionally interesting and dynamic debate.

Luma Qaddumi of BeAmman, Engineer Hazem Malhas, former Minister of Environment and current CEO of Karma Investments, and Nora Akawi of Columbia Global Center in Amman and the Studio-X Project, collaboratively facilitated a discussion of space, architecture, history, culture, and philosophy with a group of visiting students, through a short presentation and a tour of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Amman. The lecture was a part of a larger tour for students from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP).

7iber Café is a new initiative of 7iber.com, opening soon in a historic house in Jabal Amman. The space will include co-working offices, event and training space, and a full-service café.  We aspire to create a space where ideas may evolve in a stimulating environment that promotes community building. We envision ideas and conversations  bouncing freely between walls and flourishing beyond the physical space.

Once open, 7iber Café will host events on a nightly basis, bringing together diverse community initiatives in attempt to provide a creative environment of collaboration. Located in the heart of Amman, 7iber Café is located between Rainbow Street and Al Balad (downtown) in one of the most beautiful and historically rich areas of Amman.
