This evening, in Al Balad Theatre, Dar Qandeel will perform live as a conclusion to Anti-Israeli Apartheid week (8:00 PM). Local band El Morabba3 will also be playing a set at The Corner’s Pub (9:00 PM).

The Royal Film Commission in cooperation with the British Council presents “Sheffield Film Days in Amman” in the presence of the Sheffield Doc/Fest representative Sylvia Wroblewska. The programme will start on Sunday and end on Thursday, with daily screening in the RFC at 7:00 PM. On Sunday, Salma, a documentary by Kim Longinotto will be screened. It will be in Tamil with English subtitles. On Monday, The Summit, a documentary feature will be screened. It narrates the story of 24 climbers who converged on High Camp of K2 in 2008. 48 hours later, 11 had been killed or simply vanished into thin air. At the heart of “The Summit” lies a mystery about one extraordinary man, Ger McDonnell. Faced with a heart-breaking dilemma he stumbled onto a disastrous scene – three climbers tangled up in ropes and running out of time. When a climber falls or wanders off the trail, the unwritten code of the mountain is to leave him/her dead. Had Ger McDonnell stuck to the climbers’ code, he might still be alive. For the complete schedule, check out calendar here.

On Tuesday, Dar Al Anda presents the opening of “Colours of Resilience” an art project by Syrian children (6:00 PM). International artists Herakut (Germany), Ruben Sanchez (Spain), Luc van der Walt (South Africa), Jumana Hokan (Syria), David Shillinglaw (UK), Jonathan Darby (UK), and Samantha Robison (US) along with local artists and hygiene workers will be promoting positive relationships between refugees and host communities. The projects engage youth in creative activities and build awareness about issues affecting the youth and their communities. The collection of artwork created during the project will be exhibited in Amman to commemorate three years since the Syrian crisis began.
