Reporter/Writer
7iber is looking for a reporter/writer to join its dynamic content production team in Amman, Jordan. This person will be expected to turn around well-written, fact-based, concise, and well-produced stories on a wide range of local and regional topics. He/She will be expected to research and pitch content ideas weekly, and will also work closely with other team members to produce infographics, videos, and other multimedia elements for stories.
The ideal candidate will have very solid writing skills in Arabic (English writing skills are a plus), be fast, and detail-oriented. We are looking for someone who is an independent thinker not mesmerized by spin, well-read and curious about everything, with a knowledge and understanding of local issues.

يبحث موقع حبر عن مراسل صحفي وكاتب للانضمام إلى فريقه. سيتعيّن على هذا الشخص كتابة وإنتاج قصص ومواد صحفية مهنيّة دقيقة تستند إلى الحقائق، مكتوبة بلغة سليمة، تغطي قضايا محلية وإقليمية متنوعة، وعليه تقصي واقتراح أفكار لمواد أسبوعية والعمل مع أفراد الفريق الآخرين لإنتاج تقارير فيديو، إنفوغراف، وعناصر ملتيميديا أخرى.
المؤهلات المطلوبة: مهارات كتابة ممتازة باللغة العربية (مهارات القراءة والفهم باللغة الانجليزية ضرورية، والكتابة بالانجليزية ميّزة مرغوبة لكن ليست أساسية)، السرعة والقدرة على العمل تحت الضغط، والدقة والانتباه للتفاصيل. مطلوب أيضاً القدرة على التفكير النقدي المستقل، سعة الاطّلاع والفضول تجاه مواضيع متعددة، والفهم الجيد للقضايا المحلية.

Assistant Editor/Research Editor
7iber is looking to hire an assistant editor/research editor to join its dynamic team. This person will help the managing editor edit copy, write captions and headlines, and prepare pieces for publication. He/She will also be responsible for finding good content to publish, and soliciting contributions. This person will also work closely with 7iber’s research department to edit reports in both Arabic and English, and help develop content pieces to be published on the website around topics of Internet Governance, Cyber Security, Privacy and Surveillance.
In addition to helping run the site’s day-to-day operations, the assistant editor will contribute to a variety of projects and special coverage.
The ideal candidate will be fast and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to edit thoroughly, accurately and quickly under deadline pressure. He/She must have a solid background in journalism, in addition to good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently and professionally with team members and contributors.

يسعى موقع حبر لتوظيف محرر مساعد/محرر بحث. مسؤوليات هذه الوظيفة تشمل مساعدة مدير التحرير في تحرير النصوص وكتابة العناوين وإعداد المواد للنشر، العثور على محتوى جيد للنشر واجتذاب المشاركات. سيعمل هذا الشخص أيضاً مع فريق الأبحاث في حبر، والمتخصص في حوكمة الإنترنت وسياسات الرقابة والخصوصية، من أجل تحرير تقارير البحث بالعربية والإنجليزية وتطوير مواد للنشر على الموقع من هذه الأبحاث.
إضافة إلى المساعدة في إدارة عمليات الموقع اليومية، سيشارك المحرر المساعد في عدّة مشاريع وتغطيات خاصة.
المؤهلات المطلوبة هي السرعة والانتباه للتفاصيل، والقدرة على تحرير المحتوى والتحرير اللغوي بدقة وعمق باللغتين العربية والانجليزية تحت ضغط الوقت. المرشح المناسب يجب أن يملك خلفية قوية في العمل الصحفي إضافة إلى مهارات التواصل والعمل بشكل مستقل ومهني مع الفريق ومع الكتّاب والمشاركين.

7iber is looking for a graphic designer to join its dynamic multimedia content production team. This person will work closely with reporters and editors to conceive, design, and implement multi-platform interactive graphics for a variety of stories, especially data-driven stories.
The ideal candidate will be strong in information design and data visualization, with an eagerness to embrace new ways of telling stories with data, charts, maps, and illustrations.
