Naseem Tarawnah runs one of Jordan’s most prominent blogs, the black-iris.com, which has recently won a Brass Crescent award as the best Middle East blog. After finishing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics as well as a Bachelor of Honors in Public Policy from York University in Canada, he now resides in Jordan where he is currently the Deputy Editor Editor-in-chief and senior writer for Jordan Business Magazine. Naseem is the winner of the 2005 Brilliancy Award from the Andalucia Prize for Literature and is regularly invited to speak about the new media scene in Jordan by international educational centers including Harvard University, the University of London at SOAS and the United Nations University in Amman. He was a Jordanian youth representative at the World Economic Forum on the Middle East in 2008 and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management at SOAS through correspondence.

Mariam Abu Adas is currently the director of a successful Jordanian, community-based NGO, Tatawor. She handles daily management activities as well as all financial duties and community-based coordination. Suffice to say, she is very well entrenched in local, Jordanian communities and as an editor at 7iber.com she has helped bring both worlds together by constantly connecting community leaders to 7iber, allowing them to tell their neighborhood’s news. Mariam holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Youth Work from the University of London, with a thesis centering on blogging and self-censorship in Jordan, and how new media is changing the lives of young Jordanians. She has played the role of instructor and trainer at various 7iber-led workshops while taking on the duties of editing and managing content on 7iber.

Shaden Abdul-Rahman has, in a short period, established a budding background in the new media industry. A graduate in Management Information Systems from Sharjah University, Shaden first worked as an IT procurement specialist at the Al-Ghurair Group in Dubai and later at the Jordanian Web company, Mecca.com as the Content Product Manager. She has recently finished an MBA from the University of Jordan and is the Jordanian Project Coordinator for “The Beehive”, an online network aimed at connecting communities to vital information on the Web. Shaden has helped manage the Arabic content on 7iber.com tapping on her extensive translation skills, and has filled the role of a trainer in various 7iber-led workshops on new media.

Lina Ejeilat finished a Master’s degree in New Media Journalism at the prestigious Columbia University in New York City. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Electric Engineering from the University of Jordan, she switched careers early on and went from being an engineer to pursue her dream of being a journalist. Starting out at JO magazine, Lina reported on a wide variety of local issues and is widely-recognized for helping to establish the publication’s “Information Highway” section, highlighting the writings of regional and local blogs for the first time in Jordanian print media.

Ramsey Tesdell lives in Amman, Jordan and travels frequently around the region. A co-founder of 7iber.com, he works with communities around the Middle East, and is particularly interested in using new media as an outlet of expression, a space for critical conversations, and organizing collective actions. For Ramsey, new media is a powerful medium to bring people together (physically and virtually) in order to positively contribute to their society. He lives in the Rainbow House, an intentionally community of sorts that brings people together to live, work, and contribute to the space around them. Ramsey is frequently invited to speak and conduct training on new media by organizations including the United Nations, The Salzburg Seminar, Georgetown University, the British Council, the Heinrich Boell Foundation, the MacArthur Foundation, and Ruwwad. He has a B.S. in rhetoric and communication from Iowa State University, and an M.S. in technical communication from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Reem Al-Masri combined her two passions in education and new media through 7iber. As she currently works for an Education NGO, she encourages teachers and principals to share their stories and experiences in Jordanian schools on 7iber’s website, help in writing 7iber roundups on Jordanian blogs, and in editing the Arabic content. After finishing her M.A in “Communication,Culture and Technology” from Georgetown University, Reem got involved in developing programs aiming to mobilize different underrepresented communities for a local community radio station and hoping to continue doing that with 7iber.

نسيم طراونة صاحب مدونة The Black Irisو هي من أشهر المدونات الأردنية. حازت مدونته مؤخرا على جائزة  لأفضل مدونة في الشرق الأوسط Brass Crescent 2008. بعد أن أنهى نسيم درجة الباكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية و الاقتصاد، بالإضافة إلى بكالوريوس الشرف في السياسة العامة من جامعة يورك في كندا، انتقل للعيش في الأردن حيث يعمل الآن نائب محرر، رئيس تحرير و كاتب في مجلة Jordan Business .فاز نسيم أيضا بجائزة البراعة من Andalucia Prize في مجال الأدب، و غالبا ما تتم دعوته للتحدث عن الإعلام الجديد في الأردن من قبل مراكز تعليمية عالمية منها جامعة هارفارد، جامعة لندن و جامعة الأمم المتحدة في عمان. كما كان ممثلاً عن الأردن في منتدى الاقتصاد العالمي في الشرق الأوسط World Economic Forum عام 2008 و هو على وشك الانتهاء من درجة الماجستير بالمراسلة في السياسة العامة و الإدارة.

مريم أبو عدس تعمل مديرة ل “تطور” و هي منظمة أردنية غير ربحية تعمل مع المجتمعات المحلية. و تقوم مريم بإدراة النشاطات اليومية للمنظمة بالإضافة للواجبات المالية و التنظيم على مستوى المجتمع. يمكننا القول بكل ثقة أن مريم متمكنة في عملها مع المجتمعات المحلية الأردنية، و كمحررة في حبر، استطاعت أن تجمع كلا العالمين عبر تمكين القادة الشباب في مجتمعاتهم من التعبير عن أنفسهم ورواية القصص و الأخبار عنهم و عن مجتمعاتهم على حبر. تحمل مريم شهادة الماجستير في علم الإنسان (الأنثروبولوجيا) و العمل الشبابي من جامعة لندن، و تدور رسالتها حول التدوين والرقابة الذاتية في الأردن و كيف يغير الإعلام الجديد حياة الشباب الأردني. كما لعبت مريم دور المعلمة و المدربة خلال عدة ورشات عمل أقامها حبر، و تقوم بتحرير و إدارة المحتوى على حبر.

شادن عبد الرحمن استطاعت خلال فترة زمنية قصيرة أن تكون خلفية غنية عن صناعة الإعلام الجديد. حاصلة على الباكالوريوس في أنظمة المعلومات الإدارية من جامعة الشارقة و الماجستير في إدارة الأعمال و التسويق من الجامعة الأردنية، و عملت كاختصاصية مشتريات لقسم ال IT في مجموعة الغرير بدبي، كما عملت بعدها كمديرة انتاج المحتوى في شركة الانترنت الأردنية مكة.كوم. تعمل شادن حاليا كمنسقة مشاريع لخلية المعرفة، و هي منظمة غير ربحية تعنى بنشر المعرفة و بخاصة تقنية المعلومات في المجتمعات المحلية، كما تعمل في نفس الوقت كمديرة للإعلام الاجتماعي في JO Magazine. و قد ساعدت في إدارة المحتوى العربي على حبر بفضل مهارتها المتميزة في الترجمة، و لعبت دور المدربة خلال عدة ورشات عمل أعدها حبر حول الإعلام الجديد.

لينا عجيلات تحمل درجة الماجستير في صحافة الإعلام الجديد من جامعة كولومبيا العريقة في نيويورك. حصلت لينا في البداية على شهادة الباكولوريوس في الهندسة الكهربائية من الجامعة الأردنية ثم غيرت توجهها المهني في وقت مبكر من الهندسة إلى الصحافة لتحقق حلمها بأن تصبح صحافية. عملت لينا لدى JO Magazine في بداية مشوارها، وأعدت التقارير عن العديد من القضايا المحلية، و عرفت بمساعدتها الكبيرة في إنشاء قسم “Information Highway”، و الذي قدم و لأول مرة في الصحافة الأردنية المطبوعة المواضيع التي تطرحها المدونات في الأردن و المنطقة.

رمزي تسديل أنهى مؤخرا دراساته العليا و حصل على درجة الماجستير في التواصل التقني من جامعة واشنطن في سياتل، و لقد لخص دراسته في رسالته التي حملت عنوان: ” ايكولوجيا الإعلام الجديد و الحركات الاجتماعية الجديدة في الأردن”. يعمل رمزي كمنظم للمجتمعات المحلية و مدرب مختص في مجال الإعلام الجديد في الشرق الأوسط.

ريم المصري جمعت شغفها في مجالي الإعلام الجديد و التعليم مع حبر. فمن خلال عملها الحالي في مؤسسة غير ربحية مختصة بالتعليم, تشجع ريم معلمي و مدراء المدارس مشاركة قصصهم و خبراتهم في المدارس على موقع حبر. أيضا, تساعد ريم في رصد المدونات الأردنية على حبر و تحرير المحتوى العربي. بعد حصولها على شهادة الماجستير في برنامج “إتصالات, ثقافة و تكنولوجيا” من جامعة جورج تاون, شاركت ريم في تطوير برامج لراديو مجتمعي محلي هدفها تمكين المجتمعات قليلة التمثيل و تسعى في مواصلة ذالك مع حبر.
