بعد إلغاء أو تأجيل عدد من فعاليات نهاية الأسبوع الماضي بسبب الثلوج، تطل عليكم أجندة الفعاليات الثقافية والفنية لهذا الأسبوع بمجموعة متميزة من الأنشطة - أبرزها مهرجان آت الثالث بمناسبة يوم المرأة العالمي الذي يصادف ٨ آذار/مارس. يضم المهرجان  عروضاً متنوعة من الأردن ولبنان ومصر وفلسطين وسوريا وبريطانيا وبلجيكا. ويستمر حتى ١٣ آذار/مارس.

أيضاً بمناسبة يوم المرأة العالمي، ينظم معهد الإعلام الأردني ندوة حوارية حول المرأة والإعلام في الأردن، تتحدث فيها رئيسة تحرير صحيفة الغد جمانة غنيمات، الدكتورة حياة الحويك والكاتبة الصحفية لميس أندوني، والإعلامية سمر غرايبة. ويدير الجلسة الأستاذ موسى برهومة.

من الفعاليات الموسيقية هذا الأسبوع حفل ضخم يجمع ٢٠ موسيقياً من دول عربية مختلفة في Bands Across Borders (فرق عبر الحدود) في قصر الثقافة، وحفل للموسيقي طارق الناصر على خشبة مسرح الرينبو).

Monday marks the International and European Day against capital punishment, and on this occasion the French Cultural Center is hosting a number of activities; a documentary film screening, a reading of Victor Hugo's "the Last Day of the Condemned Man", and a talk by Jordanian human rights activist Suleiman Sweis. This week the Royal Film Commission hosts Spanish Cinema Days, with screenings of recent and award-winning spanish feature films. Jordanian comedian Musa Hijazeen stars in a new play titled "I Understood You" (Ana Fhemtkom), showing every day except Monday at the Concord Cinema Theater. Makan hosts the screening of a collection of experimental short films from the successful film festival Women's Voices from the Muslim World portraying a spectrum of life experiences, and down the street at Darat al-Funun a new exhibition opens on Tuesday by Jordanian artist/architect Saba...

Hakaya Storytelling festival continues this week with diverse theater and storytelling performances and readings at Al-Balad Theater, the Duke’s Diwan, and other venues. The festival closes with “Dhikra”, play/readings inspired by a 2008 Belgian play based on the testimonies of three women connected to three PLO leaders assassinated in the 70s. Another highlight this week is the European Film Festival, which offers nine days of film screenings in Amman from 15 European countries, in addition to screenings in Ma’an and Zarqa. KazaMada, [translated to: multiple dimensions] is a band made up of independent artists from Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine. It mixes Zeid's advanced electronic sounds with Donia's deep-rooted Egyptian voice, Mahmoud's rock guitar vibes, and Tamer's progressive Oud & Buzuq plucks, with inputs from each of the artists' diverse musical backgrounds. This week's highlight is the Festival of Alternative Arts, organized by the Swedish Embassy in close cooperation with Jordanian and International institutions and independent artists, to showcase and discuss graffiti and other urban alternative art expressions. It will continue through January and February. This week's program includes a concert by El Morabba3, Hana Malhas, and Ahmad Farah, and an Urban Art Hunt by Hamzet Wasel. Starting Sunday and for three days, Makan Art Space is hosting "Film and Foto", a screening of films on, about, and around the still image, organized by artists Oraib Toukan. British Film "Route Irish", which was partly filmed in Jordan, will be screened at the Hussein Cultural Center on Wednesday.
