هذا الأسبوع مميز لمحبي الأفلام العالمية. يستضيف مسرح البلد جولة "سينما مونديال" في عمْان، والتي تتضمن مجموعة أفلام وثائقية وروائية عالمية، منها الفيلم الفلسطيني "شرطي على الهامش" والفيلم العراقي "كرنتينة".

من الأفلام المعروضة أيضاً الفيلم الوثائقي "مدينة المصورين"، والذي يتتبع مجموعة من المصورين في تشيلي عملوا على توثيق مظاهر الحياة تحت الحكم الدكتاتوري لبينوشيه (١٩٧٣ - ١٩٩٠). هؤلاء المصورون كانوا يعتبرون التصوير الفوتوغرافي جزءاً من ممارسة الحرية والتعبير السياسي، وقد استخدم جزء من عملهم كدليل مهم ضمن شهادات ضحايا تلك الحقبة. يعرض الفيلم يوم الأربعاء الساعة الثامنة مساءً ويوم الخميس الساعة السادسة والنصف، في مسرح البلد. "تاكسي بيروت" فيلم وثائقي للمخرج اللبناني هادي زكاك يأخذنا في رحلة عبر بيروت "مدينة الفوضى والإعمار والنسيان" من خلال ثلاثة سائقي تاكسي من أجيال وخلفيات مختلفة يجوبون شوارعها.

فادي خيرالله، رجل كبير في السن يتكلم عن ماضيه الذي شهد ما يعتبره معركة الوجود والكفاح، "أن أكون أو لا أكون" كما يصفها، ليصل إلى مرحلة في حياته يعمل فيها سائق تاكسي مما يؤمن له ما يكفي ليسد فيه رمقه.

أما أمل سرور، فهو يدعي بأنه كان يعمل في شركة علاقات عامة في الخليج، ولكنه الآن يعمل كسائق تاكسي ليكسب رزقه، حيث همه الوحيد الربح، فنراه ينجح في تحويل التاكسي إلى مشروع مربح يقدم خدمات متنوعة لزبائنه، مثل تحويل رصيد والخ، وحسبما أعلن لإحدى الراكبات، هو مستعد لإرضاء الجميع من أجل النقود.

فؤاد الشامي، الأكبر سناً، هو رجل خانه الزمان، لا يزال يعمل على سيارة المرسيدس التي اشتراها من المانيا وقادها إلى لبنان في الستينات من القرن...

أجندة هذا الأسبوع مميزة في الجانب الموسيقي، مع عرض لفرقة أوركسترا عمان السيمفونية التابعة للمعهد الوطني، وعرض لعازفة البيانو زينة عصفور في بيت الموسيقى، وأمسية مع موسيقى الجاز بصبغة شرقية مع فرقة يعقوب أبو غوش في كانفاس، وأداء لطارق أبو كويك (الفرعي) مع دي جاي صوتوصورة، وليلة من موسيقى الراب العربي والكوميديا مع سام وشادي صلاح.

Hakaya Storytelling festival continues this week with diverse theater and storytelling performances and readings at Al-Balad Theater, the Duke’s Diwan, and other venues. The festival closes with “Dhikra”, play/readings inspired by a 2008 Belgian play based on the testimonies of three women connected to three PLO leaders assassinated in the 70s. Another highlight this week is the European Film Festival, which offers nine days of film screenings in Amman from 15 European countries, in addition to screenings in Ma’an and Zarqa. Music events dominate Amman's arts and culture agenda this week, with some great concerts scheduled every single day. After a week of very successful and eclectic shows, Al Balad Music Festival concludes tonight with a performance by French/Algerian musician Suad Massi at the Roman Amphitheater. Word has it tickets are almost out. Dozan wa Awtar has one last concert this season, performing with the Whiffenpoofs from Yale University, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. For classical Arabic music, check out the Amman Arab Music Ensemble on Monday night and Bayt Al-Ruwwad group on Wednesday night, both conducted by Sakher Hattar. This week, don't miss the screening of Mahmoud Al-Massad's documentary "This is My Picture When I was Dead," which premiered at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam in 2010 and then won the Muhr Award for best documentary at the Dubai International Film Festival. It's Al-Massad's third feature-length documentary, and his previous documentary "Recycle" was awarded at the San Sebastian International Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival in 2008.
