في عمان أماكن نتجه لها لكي نتصالح مع يومنا الطويل. ليست البيت أو العمل و لكن يمكن أن نمضي بها ساعات، هي “الأماكن أو المساحات الثالثة” التي نشعر فيها بالألفة والإرتباط مع غيرنا من الناس. قد تكون المقهى، الحديقة، مركز الشباب المحلي، كرسي الشارع أو حتى قارعة الطريق.

في عمان أيضا، أماكن نتجاهل و نتجنب وجودها وكأنها ليست هناك. أماكن منسية، مهجورة ومظلمة.
قد تكون مصف السيارات المخفي في المحطة، العمارة المهجورة “المسكونة” في طبربور، كهف جبل التاج، أو غيرها.

في هذه اللقاءات سنعرف هذه الأماكن ونتشارك بالأفكار ثم نخرج أفرادا أو فرق لتوثيق قصصها بالتصوير الفوتوغرافي، الكتابة، الصور والصوت Audio Slideshows، أو الفيديو.. سيتم عرض المشاركات في أمسية خاصة في شهر شباط/فبراير يصحبها نقاش عن تجربة المشاركين في توثيق هذه الأماكن والظروف التي قررت لها أن تصبح منسية أو ِثالثة.

In Amman there are spaces we go to so we can shake off an exhausting day; not our work space, and not home, but other places where we don’t mind spending hours. These are the “third spaces” where we feel familiar and connected to people around us. It could be a cafe, park, youth community center, a street bench, or simply the sidewalk.

There are also spaces in Amman that we ignore and avoid, leaving them unused and deserted; the underbelly of the city. It could be the hidden parking lot in Mahatta, the haunted building in Tabarbour, the cave in Jabal al-Taj, or others.

In these meet ups, we’ll discuss some of these places and brainstorm ideas before we go out to document their stories through photography, audio slideshows, writing, or video. Whatever storytelling medium you’re most comfortable with, come join us as we explore and document stories. The output of these meet ups will be presented in a special event in February, with a discussion on the participants’ experience and the circumstances that led to these spaces becoming third spaces or part of the city’s underbelly.
