Events in Amman, September 5 – 10

Hello September! Life is back to some semblance of regular rhythm after Ramadan, Eid, and summer holidays, and Amman’s arts and culture scene is picking up the pace with some great activities this week.

The much-loved Lebanese band Mashrou’ Laila are in town, and will be performing two shows at the Citadel, with opening acts by Hana Malhas and Zeid and the Wings. Word has it tickets are selling out quickly, so hurry up and get yours.

This month’s edition of Amman Tech Tuesdays is on creative Arabic web content, featuring Jordan’s stars of the season, the Bath Bayakha team. The program includes also Fouq Al Sada (Jordan), 3al Tayer (KSA), and Bassem Yousef (B+) from Egypt.

Music House is introducing a new series of concerts, this week featuring Abdul-Wahab Kayyali and Friends in an evening of international tunes and spiritual music, with Nasser Salameh (Percussion), Tareq Al-Jundi (cello), Ghassan Abu Haltam (clarinet), Aram Hairabedian (soprano saxophone) and Hussam Asmar (piano). The program includes pieces from Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey, Greece, Armenia and the USA.

You also have a music jam session in Rainbow st. tomorrow, and three nights of recent and award-winning Chilean feature films at the Royal Film Commission.
