European Film Festival, Mental Awareness Event, and more

The European Film Festival launches this week in Rainbow Theatre, offering two screenings per day starting on Tuesday, 30/9 until Sunday, 6/10. Screenings include Cool Kids don’t Cry (Achtste Groepers Huilen Niet) by Dennis Bots from the Netherlands (Monday 7pm), ETEL ADNAN: WORDS IN EXILE by Vovoula Skoura from Greece (Tuesday 7 pm), and Exam (A vizsga) by Péter Bergendy from Hungary (Wednesday 9 pm), and many others. HUMAN, a live concert by the Italian band RADIODERVISH, will take place on Tuesday (8:30 pm) in Al Hussein Cultural Center, Ras El-Ein. Inspired by Persian texts of the 12th century and by Mediterranean history and mythological images,Radiodervish’s musical universe is warm and intimate, with melodies suspended between East and West, seeking for time and space beyond all the borders. Entry is free.

The World Health Organization is sponsoring  an awareness event in the Royal Cultural Palace about mental health. The event will host various expert psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals in an open discussion to inform, inspire, and explain the processes of treatment and recovery (Monday 6pm).
