Art exhibits & live music abound in Amman this week

This week in Amman, various art exhibits are available for your viewing: “رؤى لونية”  in Fann Wa Chai, “Human Exhibit” by Omran Younis in Zara, “7 Women’s House Keys” in Gallery 14,  and “Trendsetting IV: Architect As Designer” in Nabad Art Gallery. For full details, check out our calendar here.

On Sunday, Societa Dante Alighieri in Jabal Lweibdeh will screen the film “Terraferma” by Emanuele Crialese (6:30 pm). The film will include English subtitles. Also on Sunday as part of the Sacred Music Festival, “Jalwa (from Jordan)” will be playing at the Royal Cultural Center (8:00 pm).

“Perspectives” (from France) will be performing live music at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Jabal Lweibdeh on Wednesday (7 pm). “Perspectives” was born with an aim to conceive concerts in a different way bringing together different influences.

A score of Byzantine music by the Greek ensemble “En Chordais”, one of the most internationally acclaimed ensembles specializing in the traditions of the Mediterranean music, will be performed on Thursday (8:30 pm) at Al Hussein Cultural Center.

Bala Feesh بلا فيش, a monthly series of intimate live shows featuring independent musicians in the Arab world, presents Zaman Al Zaatar (featuring Yacoub Abu Ghosh, Ahmad Barakat, Nasser Salameh, Yarub Smarait, Maen Al Sayed) and the duo Kashkash (featuring the vocalist Lama Zakharia). This free concert will be hosted in the comfort of خرابيش Kharabeeshh’s living room this Saturday, and reservations are necessary. For more information, check out the event here.
