European Films, Theater, Comedy and More in Amman This Week

This week, the European Film Festival returns in its 26th edition, bringing us different films from 12 countries across Europe. Screenings will be hosted by Institut Francais and Instituto Cervantes, and rerunned at Goethe-Institut and Societa Dante Alighieri. Click here for more information about these screenings.

Zaman Al Za’tar” perform at Shoman Foundation this Thursday, as a part of the foundation’s musical series. Music by: Yacoub Abu Ghosh-Bass guitar, Ahmad Barakat-Oud, Nasser Salameh-Percussion, Maan Alsayyed-Percussion, Laith Suleiman-Nai. Tickets are free and available at Shoman public library (7:30 pm).

Starting this Wednesday, Makan hosts an experimental musical project called “Chicago Boys”. Chicago Boys is an open band that will perform and practice oldies and discuss the history of pop music. The invitation is open for both musicians and non-musicians to join the band, revive the music of the 70s and 80s, and discover songs from Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq, Poland and other countries.

In The Royal Cultural Center, Behind The Scenes Eventology presents “Anger Management Comedy Session”, a show transforming a conventional stand-up comedy show into a unique conceptual, healing, comedic and interactive experience. Starring: Maz Jobrani, Wonho Chung, and Bath Bayakha (Wednesday, 7:30 pm).

Also in The Royal Cultural Center, the first Arabic version of the play “Rest Upon The Wind” will be launched on Saturday. The play is based on the life of Gibran Khalil Gibran. Staring: Mark Naji and Nadera Omran (7:00 pm).
