Hakaya, “Made in Jordan”, Films and More

This week, Jordanian talents will perform in “Made in Jordan” Festival, which will continue till Saturday.  Jadal, Autostrad, and Ahmad Farah will be performing on Monday (8:00 pm), Dozan and Awtar on Friday (9:00 pm) and on RUM – Tareq Alnasser Saturday (9:00 pm). Tickets: 5 JDs.

Yarub Smarait and a group of musicians from different places around the world are gathered tonight for the launch of his first album “Ya Salam, at the Odeon Theater. Tickets: 10 JDs. (8:00 pm)

Hakaya Festival in its 8th edition, opens on Saturday with the South African Film “The Dream of Shahrazad” by Francois Verster, at The Royal Film Commission. (8:00 pm)

On Tuesday, Shouman Foundation will screen the Egyptian film “Cairo Time” which saw the last performance by Egyptian cinema’s legend, Nour Al- Sharif. Three stories take place over the course of a single day in Cairo. Liala, a retired actress, is looking for Sameh, her last co-star. Salma, is dating Wael and is in Wael’s friend’s apartment. Hazem is a young drug dealer on the run from Alexandria to Cairo and picks up an old man with Alzheimer’s disease. The six characters find themselves at decisive points of their lives. (6:30 pm)

Hilda Hyari will be opening her exhibition “Faces Opposed to War” at Orient Gallery this Tuesday as well. The exhibition runs till September 24. (6:00pm)
