فيلم كوكو قبل شانيل

بعد عدة سنوات من مغادرة ملجأ الأيتام، تبدأ غابرييل شانيل بالعمل في بار ريفي كخياطة للمؤدين ومغنية في الوقت نفسه، وأصبحت تلقب بـ كوكو بسبب الأغنية التي تغنيها في المساء مع شقيقتها . تمنحها علاقة مع بارون بالسان مدخلًا للمجتمع الفرنسي وفرصة لتطوير موهبتها لتصميم قبعات مميزة تزداد شهرة. وعندما تقع في حب رجل الأعمال الإنجليزي، آرثر كابيل، تتفتح أمامها فرصًا أُخرى، لكن في الوقت ذاته، تزداد حياتها تعقيدًا.
يروي الفيلم قصة نشوء كوكو شانيل من بدايات غامضة إلى قمة عالم الموضة.

تم ترشيح الفيلم لجائزة الأكاديمية عن أفضل مصممي أزياء في 2010، وفاز بجائزة أفضل فيلم باللغة الأجنبية في دائرة جوائز نقاد الأفلام.

Coco Before Chanel

Several years after leaving the orphanage, Gabrielle Chanel finds herself working in a provincial bar. She is both a seamstress for the performers and a singer, earning the nickname Coco from the song she sings nightly with her sister. A liaison with Baron Balsan gives her an entrée into French society and a chance to develop her gift for designing increasingly popular hats. When she falls in love with the English businessman, Arthur Capel, further opportunities open up, though life becomes ever more complicated.
The film tells the story of Coco Chanel’s rise from obscure beginnings to the heights of the fashion world.

In 2010, the movie won the César Award for Best Costumes and the Étoiles D’or du Cinéma Français for Best Film Composer.
The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Designers in 2010 and won an award for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oklahoma Film Critics Circle Awards.
