“باب الواد” حي شهير في الجزائر العاصمة. عام 1989 بعد بضعة أشهر من الاضطرابات. يعمل بو عليم في الليل في مخبز، ويقوم بسرقة مكبر للصوت منصوب فوق سطح منزله كان يبث خطبة لأحد الأئمة لأنه كان يمنعه من النوم. تستخدم هذه الحماقة كذريعة من قبل الأصوليين من أجل السيطرة على الحي.
