Marc Perrenoud Trio
Marc Perrenoud, born in 1981 in Geneva, started piano at the age of 6, in Zurich. He studied at the Conservatoire de Geneve up until 2001 and obtained his diploma in 2005 at the Ecole de jazz de Lausanne.
Perrenoud is most certainly one of the finest musicians of his generation. Along with the other members in his trio – Cyril Regamey on drums, and Marco Muller on the double bass, he explores the standard jazz repertoire in an impressively new and truly original manner. The trio’s repertoire equally includes Marc’s own compositions. Their second album « Two Lost Churches » will be released this coming March. France’s Culture Jazz Maga! zine noted his music as « harmonically complex », « subtle », « mastering fine composing technique » and « it’s all there ». Along with outstanding fantasy in his melodies, he possesses a destructive force – a tangible lyric intensity, which makes Marc Perrenoud a master in all that defies convention.”
