تدمر حرب قاسية منزل شقيقين. تحتضنهما والدتهما لتحميهما بذراعيها وترعى بذرة حياتهما الجديدة، فهي قلقة من احتمال تعرض ولديها للمخاطر إذا غادرا البيت. إلا أن الصبيان يلاحقان حلمهما بالعزف على آلة العود التي تولعا بها. سرعان ما يبدآن بتجميع الخردة لكسب المال، وعندها يدركان أن مخاوف والدتهما مبررة. لكن على غرار الطيور التي تستمر بالتحليق، يتحد الصبيان للتغلب على الصدمة التي يتعرضان لها.
حاز الفيلم الجائزة الذهبية في مسابقة الأكاديمية (الأوسكار) للطلاب في 2016 عن فئة أفلام الرسوم التحريكية الأجنبية. كما تنافس في مسابقة المهر القصير في مهرجان دبي السينمائي الدولي حيث عُرض لأول مرة عالميا قبل عشرة أيام.

خمسة أولاد وعجل
يتناول الفيلم علاقة أب وابنه. تدور أحداثه في مدينة العقبة في الأردن عن مُدرّس إعدادي يسعى لكسب ثقة ابنه الصغير بشتى الطرق ويحاول مساعدته للخروج من خلاف صغير مع الجيران. يتم استدعاء والدي كل عائلة لمناقشة المشكلة، إلا أن الأمور تتفاقم وتخرج عن سيطرة الأب مما يضعه في اختبار لمبادئه وأخلاقه.
الفيلم مُقتبس عن رواية “دراجات هوائية وعضلات وسجائر” للأديب الأمريكي رايموند كرافر.
عُرض الفيلم لأول مرة في مهرجان دبي السينمائي الدولي في دورته الأخيرة، حيث كان من بين المتنافسين في مسابقة المهر القصير.

Ayny (My Second Eye)
A cruel war has taken two brothers’ home. Their mother over protects them, anxious her sons could come in danger if they leave the house. But the boys chase their dream to play a music instrument they’ve fallen in love with: a beautiful oud. They collect scrap metal to earn money and find out that their mother’s fears were justified. But as strong birds will always fly, the two boys become one to overcome their trauma.
The film has won the Gold Medal at the 2016 Student Academy Awards for Best Foreign Animation. It has recently competed for the Muhr Short Films Competition at Dubai International Film Festival, where it had its World Premiere.

Five Boys and a Wheel
The film tackles the relationship between a father and his son. Set in Aqaba – Jordan, a school teacher tries to gain his young son’s confidence and admiration and tries to help him out of a petty conflict with the neighbors. As the parents of each family are summoned to discuss the issue at hand, things get out of control putting at stake the father’s principles and morals.
The film is an adaptation of the American writer Raymond Carver’s novel “Bicycles, Muscles, Cigarettes”.
Premiered at the latest edition of Dubai International Film Festival, the film has competed for the Muhr Short Films Competition.
