Friends of Jordan Festivals is proud to host Marcel Khalife once more at the Amman Citadel as part of Jordan Festival 2016.
Born in Beirut, an interpreter of music and oud performer, Marcel Khalife is also a composer who is deeply attached to Arab culture. He associates his music with great Arab poets, which renews the character of Arabic songs, and aims to break its stereotype, and advances the culture of all Arab culture.
Since 1974, Marcel Khalife has been composing music, his work has been critically acclaimed both in the Arab World and worldwide. His creativity, innovations and his educational and humanitarian concerns and contribution to the promotion of arts and Cultures in The Arab world has earned him tens of awards of the years. His style is characterized by integration between Arab music and Western musical instruments. His music works around the classical Arabic oud but also includes jazz piano and many other influences. His playing techniques expand far outside those of classical oud playing, however, and he is attributed for having greatly expanded the horizons of this traditional Arabic instrument.
There are no parking facilities at the Citadel
All ticket holders are entitled to a free bus shuttle service from the designated Al Abdali parking to the entrance of the venue
Those who do not wish to avail the bus shuttle services from the organisers can be dropped off in private cars or taxis at the main road leading up to the Citadel. Kindly note that this road is a steep incline.
Since the concert is at an open air historic site, guests are requested to wear comfortable shoes and carry something warm to wear for the evening.
No outside food and drinks are allowed at the Citadel. There will be food stalls at the venue.
Guests are requested to arrive to the venue 1 hour prior to the performance.
VIP ticket holders are entitled to an exclusive personalized experience which includes, valet parking service, special access areas at the venue, complimentary refreshments and more.
Jordanian university students with a valid student ID card are entitled to a 25% discount on their ticket, when bought from the offline sales points
