March 8th this year marks the 100th International Women’s Day, and there are numerous cultural and artistic events taking place in Amman to mark the occasion. Check out Lana Nasser’s multidisciplinary theater performance “Taman Banat” (arabic for Eight Girls) on Monday and Tuesday at Al-Balad Theater. Listen to novelist Ibrahim Nasrallah at Readers Bookshop talk about his latest book which tackles honor killings and have him sign a copy for you. Enjoy a poetry reading salon/open mic at Makan Art Space.
There’s also German Film Days at the RFC, live jazz nights at Canvas and Cafe de Paris, very interesting exhibitions in different galleries and art spaces around town, and a lot more.
Don’t forget that you can add our google calendar to your calendars and add events directly to it, and if you don’t feel like doing that you can always just send us an email with the event info so we can post it.
