The hot weather might be keeping you indoors during the day, but do venture out in the evenings and enjoy the myriad of concerts and cultural activities taking place around Amman. As a part of Jerash Festival, a series of alternative music concert started on Sunday with Wasl, Kamilya Jubran and the group. The finale will be with Al Rahel al Kabir (The Great Departed) on Tuesday, 8:30 (tickets 5JD). The band’s show is titled «La Bombe», after one of their songs. Their music offers a satirical take on current political realities in the Middle East. One of their most popular recent songs mocks ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Film fans can enjoy outdoor screenings at the Royal Film Commission with Moroccan Film Days, from Monday to Thursday at 8:00 pm. «Malak» a Film by Abdeslam Kelai, will be screened on Wednesday. Malak, a seventeen-year old girl, finds out that she is pregnant. Abandoned by the father of the baby, she is left alone to face a society that judges and marginalizes unmarried mothers. An Art Exhibition by Aaad al Rabadi titled «Ammani Rhapsody» opens on Tuesday 7:00 pm at Orient Gallery, and continues till August 24. On the same evening, «Tales: Art Exhibition» by Juman Nimri opens at Foresight32 Art Gallery at 6:00 pm and continues till 27/8.
