Quotas are very controversial, yet several countries around the world, including such diverse countries as Sweden,South Africa, France, Portugal and Argentina have introduced gender quotas in public elections.

The debate around the quotas for women in the Lower House in Jordan has been brought up not only on the government level, but also from civil society and media.

The next #CircleofDiscussions will tackle the main challenges about the implementation of quota legislation as well as the media perception surrounding this issue.

This will be an informal event and open to the public in general.
