بعد تعرضه لحادث سيارة أدىّ إلى مقتل إحدى الركاب، يذهب “ألان” في رحلة لتقديم العزاء لوالدة الفتاة المتوفاة. عندما يلتقي “ليندا”، تبدو عليها فوراً مظاهر خارجة عن المألوف: فهي امرأة مصابة بالتوحد ومتهورة ومندفعة بطبيعتها، تقوم بدعوته للبقاء في منزلها على شرط ألا يتسبب باتساخ سجادتها. مع قضائهما بعض الوقت سوياً، يجد “ألان” قدرة فريدة على كبح جماح “ليندا”، التي تساعده بدورها على مواجهة مخاوف ماضيه.

يحكي فيلم “كعكة الثلج” قصة تعكس قوة الصداقة، مهما كانت غريبة الأطوار، إلا أنها تساعدنا دوماً على تغيير حياتنا ومداواة قلوبنا.

حاز الفيلم جائزة “جيني” لأفضل ممثلة مساعدة وجائزة مهرجان سياتل السينمائي الدولي لأفضل ممثل وممثلة عام 2006.

Following a car accident in which his hitchhiking passenger is killed, Alan makes the journey to pay his respects to the girl’s mother. When he meets Linda, it’s obvious that she’s out of the ordinary; a brash, autistic woman and absolute force of nature, she immediately invites him to stay at her house – as long as he doesn’t stain the carpet.

As they spend time together, it becomes clear that he has a unique ability to tame her and, in turn, she helps him confront the demons of his past.

“Snow Cake” is a film about the power of friendship, no matter how eccentric, to change our lives and heal our hearts.

The film has won the Genie Award for Best Supporting Actress and Seattle International Film Festival Award for Best Actor and Best Actress in 2006.
