أنتجت الثورات العربية أنواع مختلفة من الصور، فزاد على أثر ذلك دور الوسائل الإعلامية المختلفة، وبالتالي أصبح تأثير الانترنت والتلفزيون والإذاعة والصحف والأفلام في غاية الأهمية.

ستفحص الندوة كل من الماضي والإتجاهات المستقبلية للسينما ووسائل الإعلام وإرتباطها بالتغيرات السياسية في العالم العربي من خلال معالجة موضوعين أساسيين:
1)وسائل الإعلام الرقمية، حقوق الإنسان والتغير السياسي المعاصر، يتحدث عنها رود ستونمان والذي سيقدم أيضاً فيلم نصر الدين بن المعاطي الوثائقي “جيل محكوم” الذي يركز على مرحلة بدء الربيع العربي في تونس.
2)استخدام وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي في حركات التضامن مع القضية الفلسطينية، يتحدث عنها شادي أبو عياش، حيث سيركز على كل من المملكة المتحدة وإيرلندا.

ستعقد الندوة في المسرح الدائري في المركز الثقافي الملكي.

As the Arab revolutions have given birth to all sorts of images, the role of media sources and therefore influence of the internet, television, radio, newspapers, films and so on have become extremely important.

The panel will examine both the past as future trends for cinema and (social) media in relevance to the Political changes in the Arab world through tackling two topics:

1)Digital Media, Human Rights and Contemporary Political Change – presented by Rod Stoneman who will also introduce Nasreddine Ben Maati’s documentary ‘A Doomed Generation’ which focuses on the role of social media and the internet in the Tunisian initiation of the Arab Spring.

2)The Use of Social Media in the Palestinian Solidarity Movement – presented by Shadi Abu-Ayyash – with a focus on Palestine Solidarity Movement in the UK and Ireland.

The panel is to be held at the “Round Theater” of the Royal Cultural Center.
