في هذه المحاضرة يأخذنا عمر خليف في جولة لأعماله الأخيرة، حيث تتظافر الأعمال السينمائية مع تجارب الأداء والتحليل النقدي لتقديم رؤية نقدية للصورة الكولونيالية. ما هي التحولات التي طرأت على الصورة بين القرنين العشرين والواحد والعشرين؟ العالم هو فانتازيا خلقت من تظافر مخيلات متعددة. الخيال الكولونيالي ليس خيال شخص واحد بل هو تظافر مخيلات انتشرت مثل الفطر في الفضاءات الافتراضية والأحياء العامة على حد سواء. والسؤال: ما هي الثورة التي نعيش في ظلالها هذه الحال؟
عمر خليف هو كاتب وقيم فني ومحرر. يعمل قيما في “وايت تشابل” بلندن، وكبير القيمين في “كورنر هاوس” بمانشستر، وكبير المحررين في إبراز للنشر. عين قيما لجائزة أبراج للفنون في 2015، وسيعمل كقيم لـ ” أرموري” والجناح القبرصي في بينالي البندقية الـ 56. أصدر في 2014 أربعة كتب منها: “أنت هنا:الفن بعد الإنترنت” وهو بصدد إنتاج ألبوم موسيقي هذا العام.

In this illustrated lecture Omar Kholeif takes us through a journey of recent projects, interweaving cinema, performance, and critical analysis, focusing on the colonised image. What shift has occurred between image production from the 20th to the 21st centuries? The world is a fantasy created from multiple imaginations – colonised not by one coloniser but my multiple authors exploding like mushroom clouds in both virtual and public spaces. What kind of revolution does this leave us with?
Omar Kholeif is a writer, curator and editor. He is Curator at Whitechapel Gallery, London, Senior Curator at Cornerhouse, Manchester and Senior Editor at Ibraaz Publishing. In 2015, he curates, the Abraaj Group Art Prize, the Armory Show Focus and the Pavilion of Cyprus at the 56th Venice Biennale. In 2014, he released four books including, You Are Here: Art After the Internet and Jeddah Childhood circa 1994. He is also attempting to record his first album.
