الفيلم الأول في المهرجان:
(أم أميرة)

تعيش أم أميرة في القاهرة وتؤمّن لقمة العيش لعائلتها عن طريق بيع البطاطا المقلية على عربة في الشارع. تعتني بابنتها المريضة وهي المعيل الوحيد للأسرة بسبب عجز زوجها عن العمل.
على الرغم من مشاكلها ومصاعب حياتها، تستقبل أم أميرة ، بتحية صباحية وابتسامة دافئة، زبائنها الذين يترددون على عربتها لشراء ساندويش من البطاطا.
كيف تتأقلم أم أميرة مع أدوارها في ظل مسؤولياتها المتعددة؟

يُصوّر الفيلم قصص ثلاث نساء سوريات، تعيش كل واحدة منهن في حقبة زمنية مختلفة. يجمعهن الاسم “مريم”، فضلاً عن الحروب والهزائم التي شهدتها البلاد في القرن الماضي، مما يشكل روابط مشتركة بين تلك النساء الثلاث اللواتي يواجهن الحرب بجوانبها الأخلاقية والاجتماعية.
وعلى الرغم من ذلك، لا تفقد أيّ منهن ما قدمته الحياة لهن، ألا وهو الحق في الاختيار والإرادة في الحب والتضحية. تجسّد قصصهن مفاهيم الأمومة وحب الوطن والتاريخ السوري.
حاز الفيلم الجائزة الكبرى لأفضل فيلم عربي في كل من مهرجان الداخلة في المغرب ومهرجان وهران والجائزة البرونزية في مهرجان مسقط. كما شارك الفيلم في مهرجان موسكو السينمائي ومهرجان لاهاي لأفلام المرأة.

Om Amira is a Cairo woman who makes a living for her family by selling fried potatoes on a street cart. She takes care of her sick daughter and is the only provider to her family due to her husband’s incapacity to work.
In spite of all her troubles, she welcomes her customers every morning with a warm smile and with delicious potato sandwiches.
How does Om Amira cope with her numerous roles?

The film depicts the stories of three Syrian women living in different eras. The name “Mariam,” as well as the wars and defeats that the country witnessed in the past century, are common links between the three, who face war in its brutal moral and social aspects.
Yet, none of them would ever lose sight of what life has given them: the right to choose and the will to love and sacrifice. Their stories tell a lot about motherhood, love of one’s home country and Syria’s history.
The film has won the Grand Prize for Best Arab Film at the Dakhla Film Festival in Morocco and Oran Film Festival, whereas it has won the Bronze Award at Muscat Film Festival. It has also participated at Moscow Film Festival and the Hague Festival for Women’s Films.
