Today there is a growing need for journalists and computer scientists to work closely together, as digital technology continues to transform how journalists tell stories and engage with audiences. This is something we take very seriously at 7iber as we strive to produce high quality in-depth multimedia storytelling and data-driven journalism. At 7iber, technology and web development are not something we outsource, but an integral part of our everyday operations.
We’re looking for a senior Full-Stack Developer to join 7iber’s team on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week) and work with our journalists and editors on building new storytelling and data visualisation tools, and on enhancing 7iber’s website for an optimal user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop user interfaces for our WordPress website which improve the way our audiences consume stories and articles.
- Work with 7iber’s designer and editorial team on designing and building templates and tools for interactive multimedia journalism and data visualisations.
- Constantly monitor and improve the website’s performance and SEO.
Qualifications:
- Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Self learner (you’ll be the only developer working with a designer and a team of journalists and editors).
- Ability to work in LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
- Experience in working with WordPress themes and plugin structure
- Ability to work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to work with JSON and REST API environment
- Interest in data science (knowledge of Python and D3 is a plus but not a requirement as long as you are able to self-learn).
- Understanding of UX/UI concerns is a plus.
- Flexibility and ability to work well within a team and under tight deadlines

نبحث عن مطوّر برمجيات ويب متكامل Full-Stack Developer للانضمام إلى فريقها في عمّان بدوام جزئي (20 – 25 ساعة في الأسبوع)، ليعمل مع المحررين والصحفيين على بناء أدوات جديدة للسرد القصصي الرقمي وتمثيل البيانات بصريًا، وتطوير موقع حبر من أجل إعطاء قرائنا أفضل تجربة ممكنة.

- تصميم وبرمجة صفحات وواجهات المستخدم للموقع (الذي يستخدم ووردبرس كنظام إدارة محتوى)، وتحسين الطريقة التي نعرض فيها القصص والمقالات.
- العمل مع مصمم/ة حبر وفريق التحرير لتصميم وبناء قوالب وأدوات للصحافة متعددة الوسائط وتمثيل البيانات بصريًا.
- مراقبة وتحسين أداء الموقع بشكل عام وعلى محركّات البحث SEO.

المؤهلات اللازمة:

- يفضل خبرة من ثلاث إلى خمس سنوات،
- قدرة على التعلّم الذاتي (ستكون/ين المبرمج/ة الوحيد/ة وتعمل/ين مع فريق من المحررين والصحفيين والمصممين)،
- قدرة على العمل مع تقنيات Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP،
- دراية وخبرة بالعمل مع قوالب ووردبرس وإضافاتها plugin structures،
- قدرة على العمل مع HTML, CSS and JavaScript،
- قدرة على العمل مع JSON وREST API environment،
- اهتمام بعلم البيانات (الإلمام بـPython وD3 هي ميزة إضافية لكن ليست متطلبًا أساسيًا طالما لديك القدرة على التعلّم الذاتي)،
- الإلمام بقضايا تجربة المستخدم وواجهات المستخدم UX/UI هي ميزة إضافية،
- المرونة والقدرة على العمل مع فريق وبسرعة (تحت ضغط مواعيد التسليم التي تتبع دورة العمل الصحفي).
