Today there is a growing need for journalists and computer scientists to work closely together, as digital technology continues to transform how journalists tell stories and engage with audiences. This is something we take very seriously at 7iber as we strive to produce high quality in-depth multimedia storytelling and data-driven journalism. At 7iber, technology and web development are not something we outsource, but an integral part of our everyday operations.
If you are a Computer Science or IT student eager to learn more about the convergence of technology and journalism, we have the perfect opportunity for you. 7iber is looking for web development interns, both frontend and backend, to work with our technology manager on various plugins and templates.
The ideal candidate should be a self-learner. He/she will need to work with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), WordPress themes and plugins structure, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Prior experience in these environments is not necessary as long as you demonstrate the willingness and ability to learn quickly.
The intern needs to commit 20 hours per week for at least three months.
