The Fall equinox is upon us and October is around the corner. Mark your calendars for a week packed with cultural events. The Royal Film Commission in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Jordan invites you to attend the “Japanese Animation Film Week” from Sunday Sept. 21 until Thursday Sept. 25 at 8:00 PM. Under the title “Open Memory: Echoing Borders”, Studio X Amman Lab hosts selected film screenings that tackle the issue of migration and refugees. On Monday Sept.22, the program features “The Lampedusa Invasion”, which charts how a crisis on a tiny island in the middle of the Mediterranean is changing the face of immigration in Europe. All films will be screened simultaneously in NewYork, Istanbul, Far East, as well as Amman at 7:00 PM at the Columbia University Middle East Research Center.

For the artistic souls, Jadal for Knowledge and Culture invites you to the opening of the art exhibition “Noise of Silence” in Jadal-Gallery for the outstanding painter: Pietra Al Nubani
Opening on Wednesday 24/September at 7:00 PM and continues until the 28 of September.

Don’t forget to check out Art for Gaza, which continues until October 4th at the House of Art, and features work by local photographers, designers, and artists. All proceeds go to Gaza through the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

Tonight at 7:30 PM, Wireless “LaSilkee” hangouts will be screening the film “We Steal Secrets: The Story Of WikiLeaks” on 7iber’s terrace. Bring a light jacket with you as it’s going to be a bit chilly.

Last but not least for classical music fans, don’t miss a concert by the award winning pianist Shinnosuke Inugaion Thursday 25/September (at 7:30 PM at Etihad Bank in Shmeisani). Tickets are for 10 JDs and funds will go to Zaatari Refugee Camp.
